Upminster Men’s Shed is a welcoming, community-driven space where people—primarily men,
though everyone is welcome—can come together to share skills, build projects, socialise,
and support one another.
Inspired by the wider Men’s Shed movement, the Shed provides a workshop-style environment
where members can work side by side on practical activities such as woodworking, repairs, crafts,
and community projects.
The shed was the vision of a member of Upminster Baptist church and the church supported him in setting it up for the benefit of the local community. Whilst attendees do not have to be part of the congregation, the church trustees retain the oversight of the shed and its' activities.

At its heart, Upminster Men’s Shed aims to promote wellbeing, combat isolation, and strengthen local connections. The Shed encourages members to learn from each other, develop new skills, and contribute to meaningful projects that benefit the community. Whether someone is looking for companionship, a creative outlet, or a place to put their practical experience to good use, the Upminster Men’s Shed offers a friendly, purposeful environment where everyone can feel valued and involved.
Together we can make a difference in men's health and well-being.
